Strongest in California, Texas, Florida and New York
California has more members than any other state, followed by Texas, Florida and New York, with members in cities from Los Angeles and Houston to Miami and New York City. Michigan, Pennsylvania, Alabama, Ohio, Illinois, Georgia and Nevada come next, and there are members in Chicago, Atlanta and Las Vegas too.
Illinois stands out: nearly half of its members signed up as CD/TRANS, the highest share of any state on that list.

Young trans singles, admirers of every age
Most US members are men, on a site built for meeting trans women and crossdressers. More than 550 chose CD/TRANS when they signed up, the option for trans and crossdressing members. That is more than one in five US profiles, over double the share in the UK, and they are young: more than seven in ten are 25 to 34.
Across all US members, 25 to 34 is the biggest age group, nearly a third of the total, and nearly four in ten are 45 or over.

Each of the four biggest states has well-known LGBTQ+ neighbourhoods. In California, West Hollywood, its own city between Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, is the centre of LGBTQ+ life in Los Angeles County, and the Castro in San Francisco was one of the first gay neighbourhoods in the country. Texas has Montrose, the hub of LGBTQ+ Houston, and Oak Lawn in Dallas, where the bars cluster along Cedar Springs Road.
In Florida, Wilton Manors, just north of Fort Lauderdale, centres on Wilton Drive, a destination for LGBTQ+ visitors from all over the country. In New York, Hell's Kitchen has a large LGBTQ+ community and plenty of bars to match. And in Chicago, Northalsted, the stretch around North Halsted Street once known as Boystown, bills itself as the city's proudest neighbourhood.
