Trans Dating Edinburgh: Meet Trans Singles and Admirers

The capital, Leith and the towns across the Forth, all in one search.

Trans dating in Edinburgh is about more than the Old Town. More than 130 My Transgender Secret members live in the city, the Lothians and Fife, so you can meet singles in Leith, Midlothian or Fife as easily as on the Royal Mile. Most are men, and trans and crossdressing members live in the city itself.

A capital that has seen it all

Edinburgh is a festival city: every August the Fringe fills it with crowds, costumes and people being exactly who they are. The rest of the year is calmer, and a first coffee here needs no grand plan.

Because members are spread across the Lothians and over the water in Fife, set your distance to suit the evening: your daily matches weigh it, and VIP search filters let you choose it. While the Fringe packs the centre in August, a weekday meeting in Leith can be easier to arrange.

A younger mix than you might expect

Edinburgh has the smallest share of over 65s of any city we cover, just over one in nine. Three in ten members are 35 to 44, close to a quarter are 25 to 34, and more than one in five are 45 to 54. Put simply, three in four people here are between 25 and 54.

Broughton Street and the Pink Triangle

The hub of Edinburgh's LGBTQ+ life is the Pink Triangle, with Broughton Street at its centre. CC Blooms on Greenside Place has been part of it since 1994 and runs weekend brunches, so it suits a daytime meeting as well as an evening drink.

Pride Edinburgh usually marches in June. Trans Pride Scotland, usually held in late March, moves to a different city each year: Edinburgh hosted it in 2026, and Kirkcaldy in Fife the year before.

Easy first dates in the capital

The National Museum of Scotland

On Chambers Street, the National Museum of Scotland charges nothing to get in, though a few exhibitions do. It is roomy, full of things to point at and talk about, and right in the centre if either of you needs to head home early.

Down to Leith

If the museum goes well, Leith is a natural next stop for a meal or a quiet drink by the shore. More suggestions are in our first date ideas guide.

Care and advice nearby

The Chalmers Gender Identity Clinic on Chalmers Street sees people aged 17 and over from Lothian, the Borders and Fife, by GP referral. Scottish Trans, based on Bernard Street in Leith, works across Scotland on trans rights and advice.

On the site, your name stays private, your profile mentions only your nearest town, and you can block anyone instantly. For extra reassurance, look for the blue tick from a free ID check; members who would rather not upload a document can be checked by a moderator over live video instead. Read our safety advice.
