Trans Dating Newcastle: Trans Singles on Your Side of the Tyne

Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham, Darlington and Northumberland.

Trans dating in Newcastle stretches from Tyneside down to Durham and Darlington and up into Northumberland. More than 250 My Transgender Secret members live across the region, most of them men, and more than 20 chose CD/TRANS at sign-up, which is how trans and crossdressing members join. Nearly two in five of that group are under 35.

The North East, all within reach

The region is wide, but the Metro and the main rail lines tie it together. That makes it easy to start with someone a few towns away and still meet in the middle.

Northumberland is wide open country, so a line on your profile about how far you are happy to travel helps there. Your daily matches weigh distance anyway, and VIP search filters let you set exactly how far to look, from a short hop around Sunderland to the whole region.

Trans women, crossdressers and admirers all join the same site here. A couple of honest sentences about who you are and what you would enjoy will save everyone time.

A night in the Pink Triangle

Newcastle's LGBTQ+ quarter is the Pink Triangle, the patch between Central Station and the arena around Times Square and Westmorland Road. Rusty's on Times Square, with its cabaret showbar, and Powerhouse on Westmorland Road are the late-night names there. Being next to the station means nobody has a long walk home after a first drink.

Newcastle Pride, formerly Northern Pride, usually fills the city in July and is now run by Curious Arts. In 2025 the march was dedicated to the trans+ community and included a Trans+ Zone.

Gallery, then the river

The Laing Art Gallery on New Bridge Street charges nothing to get in, apart from some exhibitions, and calm enough for a proper conversation. When you have seen enough, the Quayside is a short walk away, with the bridges and the river to stroll beside. Daylight and plenty of people around make it a sensible choice for meeting someone new.

Our guide to trans first date ideas has more to try. Prefer an evening drink? Start near the station in the Pink Triangle instead.

An even spread of ages

No single age group dominates in the North East. Just over a quarter of members are 35 to 44, about one in five are 25 to 34, another one in five are 45 to 54, and more than a quarter are 55 or over. Whoever you are hoping to meet, people around your age are here.

Looked after in the North East

The Northern Region Gender Dysphoria Service is at Benfield House, Walkergate Park, and takes referrals through your GP. Nationally, Galop's helpline supports LGBT+ people facing abuse, and Switchboard LGBT+ takes calls every day if you just want someone to talk to.

Your name stays hidden on the site, your profile shows only your nearest town, and anyone can be blocked instantly. Members can prove they are real with a free ID check, which adds a blue tick, or on a live video call with a moderator that needs no documents. Read our safety guidance.
