Merseyside, both banks of the river
Trans Dating Liverpool: Meet Trans Singles and Admirers
The first UK city to make its gay quarter official.
Trans dating in Liverpool has a head start. More than 250 My Transgender Secret members live on Merseyside, from Liverpool and St Helens to Birkenhead across the water, and about one in seven ticked CD/TRANS, the box trans and crossdressing members choose. That is one of the highest shares of the UK cities we cover.
Plenty of choice, close to home
For a city of its size, Liverpool punches well above its weight: the city itself has more trans and crossdressing members than most cities on the site. Trans women, crossdressers and admirers here are all a short bus or Merseyrail ride from each other. A chat that starts online can move to a table in town whenever you both feel ready, and not a day sooner.
The Pride Quarter feels like home turf
In 2011 Liverpool became the first UK city to officially recognise its gay quarter. Known for years as the Stanley Street Quarter, it has since been renamed the Pride Quarter, and it is still the place to start a night out.
The Lisbon on Victoria Street has been a gay bar since the 1960s, and Navy Bar on Stanley Street is a local institution. Either makes an easy first stop.
Liverpool Pride usually marches in late July, and Liverpool Trans Pride holds its own march in September. Both are good reasons to have someone to go with, and plenty of reason to start chatting a few weeks before.
Dates down by the water
Royal Albert Dock
The waterfront is made for a first meeting. At the Royal Albert Dock the Merseyside Maritime Museum costs nothing to enter, so you can spend an hour inside, then walk along the quayside while you decide whether to make an evening of it.
Coming over from the Wirral
If one of you lives in Birkenhead, meeting near the river makes the trip home short and simple. Keep it public and tell a friend where you will be.

Strong in the middle years
Liverpool's members cluster in the middle years. More than a third are 35 to 44, the biggest group by a distance, and nearly a quarter are 25 to 34. Around two in five of the trans and crossdressing members are under 35, so the trans side runs younger than the membership as a whole.

Support you can reach on your own terms
The Mersey Care NHS Trans Support Service works with adults in Liverpool, Sefton and Knowsley, and you can refer yourself. Sahir House hosts Trans Health Merseyside, a monthly peer group for people who would like to talk to others who have been there.
The site does its part too. Your name is hidden, your profile only names your nearest town, and blocking is instant. Genuine profiles are easy to spot: a free ID check earns the blue tick, and a moderator's live video check works without any paperwork. See our safety page for the details.
