Bristol and the old county of Avon
Trans Dating Bristol: Say Hello to Trans Singles and Admirers
The biggest trans and crossdressing share of the UK cities we cover.
Across Bristol and the old county of Avon, more than 120 people have joined My Transgender Secret, and more than one in seven of them joined as trans or crossdressing members, the CD/TRANS option. No other city we cover has a higher share, London included.
The highest trans and CD share of our cities
That makes Bristol a good bet if you are an admirer hoping to meet trans women in Bristol, or a crossdresser who would like to talk to others who understand. Most of the area's trans and crossdressing members live in Bristol itself, so you will not have far to go.
Bath has members of its own and is a short train ride away, so it is worth widening your search to take in both cities: VIP search filters let you set a city and a distance. Couples are welcome as well as singles, and a clear line on your profile about what you are looking for helps the right people find you.
Old Market and a city that marches
Old Market is known as Bristol's gay village, and Bristol Pride still calls it The Village. It sits just east of the centre and makes an easy-going spot to arrange to meet. Not ready to be seen there yet? The Harbourside or a café in Bath works just as well for a first hello.
Bristol Pride runs as a festival fortnight from late June into July. Earlier in the year, Trans Pride Bristol usually takes to the streets in late March. It began in 2016 as Trans Pride South West.
Harbourside afternoons and Bath weekends
M Shed
M Shed sits on the Harbourside by Wapping Wharf and costs nothing to enter. Spend an hour on Bristol's story, then stroll along the water. It is lively, public and a nice change from sitting across a table from a stranger.
A day in Bath
If one of you lives in Bath, a short train ride turns a first coffee into an easy day out for either side. Choose the city that suits you both, and keep the first meeting somewhere busy. There are more suggestions in our trans first date ideas.
Plenty of 35 to 44s, and room for everyone
A third of members here are 35 to 44, with nearly one in five aged 45 to 54 and another one in five aged 65 or over. It is a slightly older crowd overall, though more than one in six is under 35, so younger members will not be on their own.

Support in the South West
There is no NHS gender clinic in Bristol itself. The regional service is the West of England Specialist Gender Identity Clinic, known as The Laurels, in Exeter. National help is close too: Galop runs the helpline for LGBT+ people facing abuse, and Switchboard LGBT+ is open every day for a listening ear.
Here on the site, your name is kept hidden, your location shows only as your nearest town, and blocking is instant. Trust comes easier with a blue tick, earned through a free ID check, or with a live video check by one of the moderators, no paperwork involved. More on keeping safe.
